The ten initiatives focus on four topics - community surveillance, anti-corruption education for the youth, communications to raise public awareness of anti-corruption measures, and improvements to public services.
Through the anti-corruption initiatives, the Government Inspectorate is expected to increase community participation in the fight against corruption and ensure the sustainability of achievements in anti-corruption measures.
Agencies, organisations and localities are encouraged to submit their projects on the implementation of such initiatives to the Government Inspectorate. Approved projects will receive up to US$7,000 each in support for the implementation of the projects.
Country Director for the United Nations Development Programme Louise Chamberlain said she hoped the initiatives of the VACI would bring about more positive changes to the community and ensure access to high-quality public services.
The VACI has been held annually since 2009 and is sponsored by the World Bank, the U.K.’s Department for International Development, the United Nations Development Programme and other partners.
