The work required a total investment of more than VND1.1 billion (US$48,400) and was completed after a three month construction period.

The reinforced concrete flag pole is 22.66m in height and built on an area of nearly 164m2.

The building of the flag pole on outpost islands not only helps to educate the younger generations about the patriotism but also serves to affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over its seas and islands.

The flag pole is part of the project to build seven sovereignty flag poles on outpost islands in strategic positions across the country and is organised by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee and the Vietnam Association of Students.
