Dialogues on occupational safety and health organised

The dialogue of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health (NCOSH) 2019 was held in Tam Ky city in the central province of Quang Nam on May 5.

The event, co-organised by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, gathered the participation of over 200 delegates representing provinces, cities and sectors across the country.

The dialogue was considered as an opportunity to suggest, amend and supplement policies and laws in order to match reality. It also aimed to discuss the difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of the law on labour safety and hygiene.

Delegates at the meeting also focused on discussing common problems in practice such as an investigation on occupational accidents, sanctioning violations of occupational safety and health, requirements on the management of machinery and equipment, standards and technical regulations on labour safety, issues of labour environment monitoring and employee healthcare.

In addition, a wide range of issues were put to the table at the conference, including support activities from insurance funds for occupational accidents and occupational diseases, regulations on technical safety inspection activities, the inspection and examination activities for service units for training and technical inspection of occupational safety, solutions to enhance communication and education for employers, and the relevant guidance regulations on the monitoring of the labour environment, examination of occupational diseases, among others.
