Symposium highlights life and career of General Chu Huy Man

Nhan Dan - A symposium entitled ‘General Chu Huy Man in the Vietnamese Revolution and his Hometown Nghe An’ was held in the central province of Nghe An on March 14 to mark his 100th birthday (1913-2013).

In his speech, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee Commission for Communication and Education, Dinh The Huynh recounted the glorious revolutionary life and career of General Chu Huy Man, who was Politburo member, Vice President of the State Council and Head of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army as well as the distinguished contributions he made to the national revolutionary cause.

General Chu Huy Man (1913-2006) was born into a family with a rich tradition of study in Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city. He joined the revolutionary cause at a very early age and became a Party member in 1930. During his lifetime he held a variety of high profile positions, and always established himself as a model resilient communist and an exemplary military official of the Party, State and the Vietnam People’s Army.

General Man is not only a talented commander in the battlefield but is also a visionary politician who paid particular attention to consolidating the spirit, qualification and revolutionary virtues and ethics for the Vietnamese armed forces, Politburo member Huynh stressed.

Speeches at the symposium also praised the significant contributions of the late General to the Vietnamese revolutionary and his hometown Nghe An.
