Participants at the event agreed that with the rapid expansion of e-commerce, consumer protection has become more crucial than ever.

They reviewed consumer protection efforts in Vietnam, focusing on government policies and regulatory frameworks; and discussed lessons from the UK on effective product recall strategies and digital solutions to improve transparency and consumer trust.

They also highlighted the signing of the 2025 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the UK and Vietnam, which marked a new phase of cooperation between the UK Office for Product Safety and Standards and the Vietnam Competition Commission.

The discussions provided actionable insights for policymakers, businesses, and consumers navigating the evolving e-commerce landscape.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman of the National Competition Commission Nguyen Quynh Anh briefed current State regulations that aim to protect consumer rights in the digital environment, especially in transactions on e-commerce platforms.

She stressed that the completion of the policy is even more critical in the context of strong development of domestic and cross-border e-commerce, with many challenges posed to protect consumers’ legitimate rights in the online environment.
