Speaking at the event, Metfone General Director Cao Manh Duc said the gifts were presented in the hope that the community will enjoy a warm and complete Lunar New Year.

He expressed his wish that the community will unite and strive together for a better life, helping to build the local society and cultivate the solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

According to the organisers, the more than 1,000 gifts were given to people of Vietnamese origin and some poor Cambodian families in nine provinces and cities, especially those living around Tonle Sap.

67-year-old Pham Phu Tho, one of the recipients living in Phnom Penh, thanked the Party, Government, and domestic compatriots for their sentiments towards people of Vietnamese origin in Cambodia.
