Tourist attractions crowded with visitors during five-day holiday

Tourist sites and attractions across the country welcomed large numbers of visitors during the five-day holiday to commemorate the Hung Kings’ death anniversary, national reunification, and May Day, from April 29 to May 3.

The Quang Ninh Provincial Tourism Department reported that the locality served more than 624,000 holidaymakers from April 29 to May 2.

The most-visited tourist spots in the province included Ha Long Bay, Yen Tu historical relic and landscape area, Ba Vang Pagoda, Cua Ong temple, and Quang Ninh Provincial Museum.

Nearly 1.2 million people flocked to the central province of Thanh Hoa from April 29 to May 3, up 33.1% against the same period last year, according to statistics from the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In the reviewed period, revenue from tourist activities reached nearly 3 trillion VND.

Meanwhile, the number of visitors to the imperial city of Hue in Thua Thien Hue Province during the five-day holiday was estimated at 95,000, a year-on-year increase of 50%.

Notably, the UNESCO-recognised Complex of Hue Monuments received a record number of 54,300 tourists, double that from the same period in 2022.

Meanwhile, the southern coastal city of Vung Tau in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province greeted more than 250,000 visitors.

The Mekong Delta province of Can Tho attracted more than 87,600 vacationers, double the figure from the same period last year.
