The event was held in response to the “65 Years of Viet Nam-Cuba Solidarity” campaign launched by the Viet Nam Red Cross Society.

The 65-day programme, running from August 13 to October 16, originally aimed to raise at least 65 billion VND to help Cuban people overcome current hardships and facilitate their cause of national building and defence.

Beyond its humanitarian purpose, the campaign serves as an educational platform for younger generations, highlighting the enduring friendship and special bond between Viet Nam and Cuba.

In celebration of the International Day of Peace (September 21), the Youth Union also presented gifts to local workers at the military base in Bentiu. This move carried a powerful message of peace, solidarity, and mutual support—reinforcing the connection between Vietnamese peacekeeping forces and the local community.
