The event was organised by the Viet Nam Digital Content Creation Alliance (DCCA) in collaboration with Thu Do Multimedia Joint Stock Company (Thu Do Multimedia), the Coalition Against Piracy (CAP) and the Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA) under the auspices of the Viet Nam Digital Communications Association (VDCA).
According to the latest research, Viet Nam is currently one of the countries with the highest rate of digital content copyright infringement in the Asia-Pacific region.
Currently, the solution of blocking illegal websites (site blocking) is evaluated by international experts as an effective solution and has proven its effectiveness in many countries.
According to CAP’s report, countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia... have successfully applied the process of blocking illegal websites with very clear criteria: Standardising the verification process, coordination between Internet service providers, fast processing speed, reasonable cost, and flexibility in technical measures (DNS/IP blocking, dynamic updating).
In Viet Nam, the coordinated efforts between authorities, service providers, associations and organisations have brought about initial positive results. More and more infringing websites are being blocked, creating a significant shift from illegal platforms to legal platforms.
The workshop also recorded opinions and proposals from digital content copyright owners such as K+, VTV Go, FPT Play... This continues to be a step forward in creating a foundation for international coordination, providing new directions and advanced technological solutions to create a safe and transparent digital content environment, contributing to promoting the knowledge economy in Viet Nam and the region.
