Vietnam Airlines increases flights between Hanoi and Dien Bien, serving the National Tourism Year – Dien Bien

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines decided to double the frequency of flights to Dien Bien (from one to two flights per day) to serve the 2024 National Tourism Year – Dien Bien event and the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.

On March 17 alone, Vietnam Airlines will operate three flights from Hanoi to Dien Bien and vice versa, to meet the travel demand of people and tourists.

Lo Thi Yen, Director of Dien Bien Airport, said on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and activities of the 2024 National Tourism Year – Dien Bien and Hoa Ban (Bauhinia) Festival, the number of passengers traveling from and to Dien Bien has been growing strongly. Therefore, Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air have increased the frequency of flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Dien Bien and vice versa.

Specifically, there are currently 3 - 5 flights per day, including 2 - 4 flights between Hanoi and Dien Bien and one between Ho Chi Minh City and Dien Bien. The number of passengers to Dien Bien Airport has reached about 1,000 per day.

To best serve the travel demand and safety of passengers, Dien Bien Airport has developed a plan to serve passengers during the peak time.

Determining the significance and importance of the 2024 National Tourism Year - Dien Bien and Hoa Ban Festival as well as the activities in celebration of the 70th anniversary of dien Bien Phu Victory, Dien Bien Airport has been proactively coordinating with functional agencies of Dien Bien Province to promote the image of the locality to visitors.
