Vietnam attends festival of ethnic groups in Russia

The festival of ethnic groups in the Ural region of Russia took place at the Vladimir Mayakovsky Central Park of Entertainment and Culture, in Ekaterinburg City, Russia, on September 1, with the participation of representatives of ethnic groups living in the Ural region, including Vietnam.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Sverdlovsk Oblast Lyudmila Babushkina; First Vice Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Alexey Shmykov; Ekaterinburg Mayor Alexey Orlov; Chairman of the board of the Union of State Cultural Organisation in the Sverdlovsk region, Farukh Mirzoev; and representatives of ethnic groups living in the Ural region.

On the Vietnamese side, there was the presence of the Consul General of Vietnam in Ekaterinburg Nguyen Mai Huong, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Sverdlovsk province Le Thanh Do, and a large number of people in the Vietnamese community who are doing business, living, and studying here.

Authorised by the Governor of Sverdlovsk region, First Vice Governor Alexey Shmykov congratulated all ethnic groups living in the Central Ural region on this special event.

Alexey Shmykov emphasised that this year, the people of the Central Ural region celebrate this important holiday on September 1 - Knowledge Day. This is a wonderful coincidence because today, folk knowledge, traditions and culture are a huge treasure of knowledge that everyone needs to preserve for future generations.

Chairwoman of the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region Lyudmila Babushkina affirmed that this is one of the most beloved holidays in the region. People living in this region come from many different countries and they always understand that only by uniting can all problems be solved and national interests be protected.

This event aims to mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Sverdlovsk Region and the 300th anniversary of the founding of the city of Ekaterinburg. The Sverdlovsk Region is among the top 10 regions of Russia in terms of most macroeconomic indicators.

This year's event featured 27 exhibition booths, introducing and promoting the beauty of the people, culture, traditions and typical products of the ethnic groups living in the Ural region.
