The stage is a gift from the Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Cambodia Ministry of Culture and Arts.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Cambodia Ouk Socheat said this building will be significant to the revival and development of the Cambodian circus.
He also expressed his deep gratitude to Vietnam, especially the Vietnam Circus Arts and Vaudeville Secondary School, for its assistance in training circus artists and building the circus theatre for Cambodia.
The new circus stage is scheduled to open in late 2011.
