At the Con Dao Museum, in Con Dao Special Zone, Ho Chi Minh City, 25 artworks created on lotus leaves portraying female revolutionary fighters are currently on display for the public. Through their unique material and moving stories, the works create a space that connects historical memories with patriotism and the spirit of dedication in peacetime.
The themed exhibition, entitled “Lotus in Stone,” as part of the Heritage and Peace Journey 2026 series, jointly organised by the Viet Nam Cultural Heritage Association, the Viet Nam Women’s Museum, and Senhouse Viet Nam Company. The event is held in celebration of the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19, 1890–May 19, 2026) and International Museum Day on May 18.
On this occasion, the Viet Nam Cultural Heritage Association, in coordination with the Viet Nam Peace Committee, the Viet Nam Ao Dai Heritage Club, and Vietravel Ha Noi, presented 250 white ao dai to female students and teachers of Vo Thi Sau High School, while also holding the “Wish for Peace” ceremony at the Pier 914 historical site. More than 300 delegates and local students joined a parade from the Con Dao Museum to the ceremony venue, highlighted by the image of female students wearing traditional ao dai.
The “Lotus in Stone” exhibition will remain open to visitors at the Con Dao Museum until the end of July 2026.
* In celebration of the 136th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890–May 19, 2026) and in response to the Summer Festival 2026, the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City, in coordination with the People’s Committee of Duong No Ward, is organising the Duong No Village Festival 2026 under the theme “Duong No – A Journey Through May” from 14 to 16 May.
The event aims to commemorate and honour the immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, while also helping to further promote and educate officials, Party members, and people from all walks of life, particularly the younger generation, about his ideology, morality, and lifestyle.
The festival will take place at Duong No Communal House and the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in Duong No — an area associated with the period when President Ho Chi Minh lived and studied during his childhood 128 years ago.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 7:30pm on May 14, at Duong No Communal House.
As part of the festival, a wide range of cultural, artistic, and heritage experience activities, along with programmes promoting local products, will be held.
* A thematic exhibition marking 80 years since President Ho Chi Minh issued the call for national resistance (December 19, 1946–2026) will take place from May 19–23 at the Nghe An–Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum, as part of the 2026 Sen (Lotus) Village Festival in Nghe An Province — the birthplace of the late leader.
This is an important political and cultural event that celebrates the lasting historical significance of President Ho Chi Minh's call for national resistance, while highlighting the vision, determination, and intellectual strength of the Party and the Vietnamese people during a pivotal moment in history. The exhibition also aims to celebrate the late President’s 136th birth anniversary (May 19, 1890–2026).
In addition to the central exhibition, the participating localities will showcase their own displays highlighting President Ho Chi Minh’s legacy, local achievements, and the continued efforts to translate his teachings into socio-economic development.
