Vietnamese businesses and diplomats from many African countries gathered at the “Meet Africa 2025” event held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 11.
Delegates shared valuable business experiences and agreed to maintain close contact at a working session between the Khmer–Viet Nam Business Association and a delegation from the An Giang Provincial Centre for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion and local enterprises, creating a channel for stronger and more sustainable investment in Cambodia.
Around 30 Vietnamese businesses are joining another 200 brands from across 10 countries and territories at a series of international trade exhibitions covering agriculture, livestock, fisheries, beauty, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, food and beverages, and the pet industry, which are taking place in Cambodia.
As of August 7, 2025, the US has officially imposed a 20% reciprocal tariff on many Vietnamese exports. It seems to have come as a shock, however, for entrepreneurs and experts, it is a turning point that could help Vietnamese enterprises strengthen their resilience, restructure their value chains, and gradually assert their position in the global marketplace.
The shift in United States trade policy and reciprocal tariffs is prompting the Vietnamese business community to reassess its export strategies, while also creating opportunities to innovate, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen sustainable competitiveness.
Japan remains a promising market for Vietnamese exports, especially in consumer goods and agricultural products. However, to effectively tap into this potential, Vietnamese businesses must meet strict quality standards and navigate intense competition.
Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW (dated December 22, 2024) of the Politburo emphasises that science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation are strategic breakthroughs and key drivers for green growth.
