Vietnamese young pianist wins international contest

Nhan Dan Online – Nine-year-old Vietnamese pianist Quach Hoang Nhi won first prize on July 25 at the Mozart International Piano Competition in Bangkok, Thailand.

After four days of competition, Hoang Nhi topped 22 other competitors in group D (aged 7-9) from the US, Japan, Thailand and Philippines.

Quach Hoang Nhi has studied for five years and won a number of local and international prizes including the gold prize at the Music Festival in Cheonan, the Republic of Korea in August 2012.

In addition, another Vietnamese young pianist Nguyen Kieu Anh also entered the final round of group A (aged from 18 to 24).
