The 14th National Party Congress was not merely a routine political event, but a historic milestone of breakthrough significance, shaping the destiny and stature of the nation for decades to come.
Emphasising this point, Pham Nguyen Nhu Quynh said that the 14th National Party Congress was of special magnitude, as it marked the moment when the Party carried out a comprehensive and profound review of 40 years of Doi Moi (Renewal)—a difficult yet glorious journey that has completely transformed the country’s landscape.
According to Quynh, the valuable lessons distilled at the Congress are not intended for just one term, but serve as foundational building blocks for shaping a strategic vision that will guide Viet Nam into a new era of development. This is a stage in which all endogenous resources, together with the international standing and prestige that Viet Nam has painstakingly accumulated, will be transformed into powerful breakthrough strength, helping the country escape the middle-income trap and reach new heights.
Quynh shared that, for the community of Vietnamese students studying and conducting research abroad, the 14th National Party Congress carries extremely sacred spiritual significance and is a great source of encouragement.
Although far from the homeland, the hearts and minds of every overseas student are always directed towards the capital Ha Noi, closely following every decision of the 14th National Congress. The Congress is not only a symbol of confidence in the Party’s wise leadership, but also a strong affirmation of the aspiration for a powerful and prosperous Viet Nam that is gradually taking shape.
Quynh stated: “This Congress is like a call to action, a heartfelt command sent to the young generation that is accessing the essence of global knowledge abroad. This major event reminds us that learning is not only for personal development, but also for preparing the knowledge, intellect and resilience needed to meet the demands of the era of national rise.”
She affirmed that overseas students are the extended arms of the nation, serving as bridges for transferring modern technology and knowledge back home. They also deeply recognise that the strategic objectives set out by the 14th National Party Congress represent the future that the younger generation will shoulder.
Conveying the heartfelt thoughts and aspirations of the overseas student and young intellectual community in Thailand, Quynh affirmed that, as Viet Nam stands at the threshold of an era of national rise, Vietnamese students in Thailand are fully aware that the Party and the State attach special importance to students and intellectuals.
According to her, for overseas intellectual resources to truly become a breakthrough driving force for the country, the foremost and greatest aspiration of Vietnamese students in Thailand is that the Party and the State will continue to improve and strongly renew mechanisms for attracting and utilising talent. They hope that policies to encourage young intellectuals to return and contribute will not be limited to material incentives or salary levels, but will focus more importantly on creating a professional, transparent and highly creative working environment.
Such an environment should be one in which new thinking and advanced knowledge acquired from international education systems are respected, tested and given space to fully realise their value, helping to solve practical challenges in the country’s pursuit of rapid and sustainable development.
In addition, Quynh also conveyed the wish of overseas Vietnamese for stronger connection and sharing with their national roots, expressing hope for more direct dialogue forums and regular meetings between Party and State leaders and the international student community.
She believes that “these information bridges not only help us stay promptly updated on the Party’s major guidelines and policies, but also provide a space for young people to express objective perspectives and practical recommendations drawn from overseas study experience. Through this, every overseas student, wherever they may be, can always feel the warmth and care of the homeland, reinforcing the belief that they are an inseparable part and an important resource of the great national unity bloc.”
As the country stands before historic thresholds with strategic goals towards 2030 and 2045, Pham Nguyen Nhu Quynh deeply recognises that young people are not only beneficiaries, but also key actors and a vanguard force on all fronts. Vietnamese students in Thailand wish to concretise the spirit of aspiration, pioneering and courage through practical actions aligned with the characteristics of an overseas intellectual community.
At the same time, the Vietnamese Students’ Association in Thailand consistently strives to spread Vietnamese values and connect overseas intellectuals with the homeland, clearly defining its role as a bridge in academic and cultural exchanges between Viet Nam and Thailand.
The Association has successfully organised many events rich in national identity, notably the “Di choi di” programme series, creating spaces for students from both countries to connect and practise their mother tongues, thereby promoting the image of Vietnamese people as friendly and intellectually vibrant.
Notably, during political activities towards the 14th National Party Congress, the overseas intellectual and student community in Thailand actively contributed opinions to draft Congress documents. This demonstrated the sense of responsibility and dedication of young people towards breakthroughs in science and technology and innovation—contributions not merely theoretical, but distilled from practical experience gained through engagement with advanced education and governance models in the host country.
