The KN 306 and KN 317 ships (belonging to the Fisheries Surveillance Team No. 3) set sail again, beginning a long-term mission at sea to perform their Tet (Lunar New Year) duty on February 10 when the mainland is bustling with the colours of the new spring.

These voyages in springtime carry an important mission: Strengthening patrols, control, and enforcement of fisheries laws, combating IUU fishing, accompanying and supporting fishermen to venture further offshore, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the nation's seas and islands.

In the last days of the year, the fishing activities of the fishermen will be busier due to the increased demand for seafood before, during, and after the Tet. Therefore, violations of fishing activities, especially IUU violations, are easily committed, such as: fishing in the wrong sea area, using the wrong fishing gear, violating regulations on vessel tracking devices, or fishing in foreign waters.

In light of this situation, the KN 306 and KN 317 patrol ships were assigned the task of strengthening patrols, control, and legal communication for fishermen, ready to handle violations; and at the same time, supporting and assisting fishermen, carrying out search and rescue missions when necessary.

In addition, the Fisheries Surveillance ships were also assigned the task of detecting, preventing, and resolutely expelling foreign fishing vessels that illegally encroach on Viet Nam's waters to exploit marine resources. The process of communication and expulsion must be implemented resolutely, persistently, in accordance with the law, policies, and strategies, maintaining a peaceful and stable environment at sea.

Before the ships left port to carry out their mission, Vu Van Tai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Fisheries Surveillance Team No. 3, along with representatives from various agencies and units, directly visited, encouraged, assigned tasks, and extended New Year greetings to the officers and crew of KN 306 and KN 317 ships.

The officers and crew on the ships were thoroughly briefed on the situation and their mission; All preparations are complete and ready, from personnel, machinery, and equipment to logistics and technical support, ensuring all entitlements during Tet are properly provided; the trays of five fruits, branches of apricot and peach blossoms, and green sticky rice (Chung) cakes will contribute to creating a joyful Tet atmosphere on the ships, dispelling homesickness and further strengthening the spirit of unity, camaraderie, and determination to successfully complete the tasks of each officer and crew member.
