According to Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, the new facility will serve to replace the current Giang Vo Exhibition and Fair Centre so as to meet the exhibition demand of domestic and international events, contributing to promoting Hanoi’s existing potential and advantages.

The project will be invested in and implemented by the Vietnam Exhibition Fair Centre Joint Stock Company, an affiliate of Vingroup, in the three communes of Co Loa, Mai Lam and Dong Hoi, as one of the ten key facilities prioritised for investment in line with the master plan for construction in the Hanoi capital region for the period until 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The national exhibition and fair centre has been designed to be an “exhibition city” featuring a number of synchronous and multifunctional facility complexes, with 550,000 square metres open for the construction of major functional subdivisions, including indoor and outdoor exhibition areas, the trade promotion centre, the convention centre and other supporting facilities (hotel, trade centre, etc.).

Due for completion in the fourth quarter of 2018, the centre is expected to give a strong boost to socioeconomic development for locales to the north of the Red River.
