Notably, Nguyen Thu Thuy from Vietnam’s Bong Sen Theatre of Traditional Music and Dance in Ho Chi Minh City won ‘The Best Artist’.
Meanwhile, the Klasin troupe from Thailand and the Lao national art troupe were presented awards for ‘Most Favourite Troupe’.
Addressing the closing ceremony, musician Nguyen Duc Trinh, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Musicians’ Association, said that the festival aimed to tighten solidarity and friendship in arts and culture among ASEAN nations.
It also provided an opportunity for Vietnamese artists to introduce the country's unique musical and artistic values to friends in the region and gain experience from regional colleagues.
The week-long festival, co-organised by the Department of Performing Arts under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hai Phong city authorities, featured more than 90 performances on the stage, by artists from 10 troupes from Vietnam and other ASEAN nations.
The performances included dancing, choir singing, orchestras, and singing in both traditional and contemporary styles.
