On late October 18, nearly a thousand Youth Union members and youngsters in Hanoi joined a four-hour shift to support 800 female environmental workers in the capital city’s four districts of Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da, Ba Dinh and Hoan Kiem.
The activity aimed to encourage and share the hardship of female workers, while educating young people on environmental protection.
On the occasion, the organisers handed over 50 gifts to 50 female environmental sanitation workers. The Youth Union members of the above four districts also gave flowers and gifts to the female workers to celebrate the Vietnam Women's Day.

The same day, in Hau Giang, the Mekong Delta province hosted a conference to honour typical local women who have good models and active contributions to provincial development.
At the event, 34 individuals were awarded with medals from the VWU in recognition of their contributions, while another 40 typical individuals were also hounoured for fulfilling targets under various emulation movements. At the same time, 40 scholarships (worth VND1 million each) were also offered to outstanding local female students.
In the northern province of Thai Binh, the provincial VWU in coordination with the provincial Women's Advancement Committee have hosted a meeting with former female leaders and managers.
The central city of Da Nang’s VWU has organised a forum to discuss measures on consolidating and perfecting the organisational apparatus and its functions and tasks.
A creative startup festival has been launched in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap. The organisers also honoured 143 typical females at the event.
