People’s Artist Thanh Hoa, Chairwoman of the Association for the Protection of Performing Artists’ Rights in Music of Viet Nam, said the event was not only an occasion to honour and express gratitude to artists who have devoted their lives to musical performance, but also a source of encouragement for them to continue nurturing their passion, creating, and contributing to the country’s music in the new period.

Speaking at the ceremony, People’s Artist Pham Ngoc Khoi, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, emphasised that the honoured artists are outstanding figures who have made important contributions to Vietnamese music, especially revolutionary music. He said the activity not only reflected respect for those who have devoted themselves to the country’s arts but also helped spread humanistic values and the spirit of continuity among generations of Vietnamese artists.

On the occasion, 10 musical performers received the commemorative medal, namely Nguyen Hong Hanh, Nguyen Thanh Noi, Cao Tu Hau, Le Tuyet Nhung, Do Thi Kim Oanh, Ha Dinh Cuong, Nguyen Thi Phuong Chi, Nguyen The Dan, Ngo Bich Vuong, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam.

Many of the artists honoured this time are advanced in age but remain actively engaged in artistic activities, training younger generations, and contributing to musical life. Their quiet dedication forms an important part of the identity of Vietnamese music.

In addition to its mission of protecting related rights for musical performers, in recent years the APPA has organised several rounds of commemorative medal presentations for 125 Vietnamese musical performers across different periods.

The association not only pays attention to veteran artists but also supports the younger generation. It has presented 20 scholarships to outstanding students of the Vietnam National Academy of Music to encourage the learning and creative spirit of young talents in the field of music.
