Arts programme pays tribute to fallen soldiers on Dong Loc battlefield

An art programme was held at the Dong Loc T-junction national special historical site in Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province on July 22 to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the Dong Loc T-junction victory (1968-2023) and the 76th anniversary of Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (1947-2023).

The event is an annual activity co-hosted by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, the Ha Tinh provincial authorities and functional units to pay tribute to the great services of those who laid down their lives on the Dong Loc battle field during wartime.

The programme featured art performances in various genres of music, poem recitals, and stage plays hailing the Vietnamese people’s aspiration for peace.

Speaking at the programme, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan stressed that the sacrifice and patriotism of the fallen soldiers, particularly 10 young female volunteers, who fought in Dong Loc and other battlefields across the country during wartime are always remembered and appreciated by generations of Vietnamese people.

She highly lauded the glorious revolutionary tradition of the Party committee and people of Ha Tinh province, as well as their development achievements in recent years.

She asked the local authorities to pay greater care to revolutionary contributors and mobilise further contributions from local people in the construction and development of Ha Tinh province.

She also praised Nhan Dan Newspaper for hosting the annual programme as well as other meaningful social activities.
