Recently, Tuyen Quang has launched various tourism promotion events attracting attention from both domestic and international tourists. Notable events include the opening of the Tuyen Quang Tourism Year 2024, the third International Hot Air Balloon Festival in Tuyen Quang, and the conference on tourism investment connection in ethnic minority craft villages. These events have created momentum for tourism development, attracting large numbers of visitors for sightseeing and exploration.
In the third quarter of 2024, the province attracted 547,000 visitors, bringing the total number of visitors in the first nine months of the year to over 2.4 million, up 5% over the same period last year. This impressive result demonstrates the province’s continuous efforts in improving infrastructure, enhancing service quality, and organising effective tourism promotion activities. Total tourism revenue reached 787 billion VND in the third quarter and 3,058 billion VND in nine months through September, up 14% compared to the same period in 2023.
Additionally, Tuyen Quang Province has focused on accelerating the investment and construction of key tourism projects, especially the Na Hang-Lam Binh Nature Reserve. This project not only helps preserve nature but also develops an ecological tourist area, creating unique tourism products attractive to nature and local culture enthusiasts.
However, Tuyen Quang’s tourism sector also faces many challenges, including damage caused by Typhoon Yagi. The Tuyen Quang Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the province’s main tourism products, was severely affected by natural disasters. Hotels, guest houses, restaurants and other tourism service facilities suffered serious damage. Many travel businesses had to cancel tours and tourist sites had to temporarily stop receiving visitors, significantly affecting tourist numbers and total revenue from this sector.
In response to this situation, the province quickly implemented recovery measures, focusing on repairing and reconstructing tourism infrastructure and supporting businesses in resuming operations. Simultaneously, the province took proactive measures in natural disaster prevention and damage mitigation to ensure safety for tourists and businesses.
Besides tourism, Tuyen Quang has also recorded significant achievements in trade and services. In the third quarter of 2024, total retail and consumer service revenue reached 8.6 trillion VND, bringing the total revenue for the first nine months of the year to 29.1 trillion VND, up 7.6% compared to the same period in 2023. These figures demonstrate strong recovery in consumer demand after the pandemic, while reflecting the province’s efforts in maintaining and developing the retail network.
Additionally, the province’s export value has achieved impressive results. In the third quarter, export turnover reached 565 million USD, bringing the total turnover for the first nine months to 1.234 billion USD, up 11.6% year on year.
To meet socio-economic development needs, Tuyen Quang Province has focused on infrastructure development and ensuring traffic safety. In the third quarter, cargo transport volume increased by 5.49%, while passenger transport increased by 7.7% compared to the same period in 2023. This demonstrates the strong growth of transport activities, effectively meeting people’s travel needs and goods circulation.
The province has also paid special attention to ensuring the safety of communication networks and developing accommodation and dining services. Currently, the province has 448 accommodation facilities, including one 4-star hotel, 34 1–2-star hotels, and more than 270 large restaurants.

One of the highlights of Tuyen Quang’s tourism development strategy is combining economic development with cultural and natural preservation. The Tan Trao historical, cultural and ecological tourist area is gradually becoming an attractive destination with the launch of the Flamingo Heritage Tan Trao Reception Centre. This project not only brings new tourism experiences but also helps preserve and promote the historical and cultural values of Tan Trao — a place closely tied to Vietnam’s revolutionary history.
Additionally, the Na Hang - Lam Binh Ecological Tourist Area and My Lam Hot Springs Tourist Area are ideal destinations, attracting large numbers of tourists who love nature and healthcare. These tourist areas not only exploit tourism potential but also contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development.
Tuyen Quang has established itself as one of the provinces with rapid development in tourism, trade and services. With its significant achievements, Tuyen Quang Province is gradually affirming its position on the country’s tourism map. However, to achieve greater goals in the future, Tuyen Quang needs to continue improving service quality, perfecting tourism infrastructure, and proactively responding to challenges from natural disasters. Only then can the province’s tourism and economy develop sustainably and bring maximum benefits to residents and businesses.
