The book presentation made on June 30, marks the 90th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh’s first unofficial visit to the Soviet Union in 1923 and speaks of the numerous and fascinating stories about the President’s visit.
The original Vietnamese manuscript was written by Vu Ky, the long-term secretary of Ho Chi Minh and later the Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum and was first published in 1987.
Evghenhy Pavlovic Glazunov, the Honorary Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association, translated the book into Russian with the support of the Association of Vietnamese overseas in the Russian Federation.
He once served as the interpreter to Ho Chi Minh when working at the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.
Glazunov spent a long time carefully translating the book to ensure it accurately reflects the late President’s affection for the country and people of the Soviet Union.
The book educates young Russians about Ho Chi Minh’s life and work and the history of Vietnam.
