Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City will hold firework displays at four locations from 12:00 a.m. to 12:15 a.m. on January 1, 2026.
Specifically, three high-altitude firework shows will take place at the following sites: the area at the entrance of the Sai Gon River Tunnel in An Khanh Ward; the new urban city centre in Binh Duong Ward; and Tam Thang Square in Vung Tau Ward.
The city will also host one low-altitude firework show at Dam Sen Cultural Park in Binh Thoi Ward.
In addition, the New Year celebration plan includes artistic light decorations along major roads in the city centre and various areas across Ho Chi Minh City.
A number of cultural and artistic programmes will be held to welcome 2026, including the New Year Countdown on the night of December 31 at Nguyen Hue Walking Street in Sai Gon Ward.
The city will also organise diverse programmes: Sunrise Run and a mass yoga performance on the morning of December 31 at Tam Thang Tower Square in Vung Tau Ward; and the evening art programme on December 31, at Tam Thang Tower Square in Vung Tau Ward.
New Year celebrations will also include the “Cultural and Culinary Festival” from December 27, 2025, to January 1, 2026, at Bai Sau in Vung Tau Ward; an outdoor art performance welcoming the 2026 New Year at the park in front of the former Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Centre in Binh Duong Ward on the night of December 31; and artistic performances on the night of December 31 in the wards and communes of Dau Tieng, Xuan Son, Binh Khanh, Go Vap, and Phu Thanh.
The city will also organise cultural and artistic performances to welcome the 2026 New Year at the Youth Cultural House, universities, colleges, vocational institutions, and dormitories throughout the night of December 31 and on January 1, 2026; alongside various cultural and artistic activities in export processing zones and industrial parks.
Furthermore, several sports events will take place to mark the New Year 2026, including the 12th Ho Chi Minh City Marathon “HCMC Marathon 2026”; the Ho Chi Minh City Cross-Country Race celebrating the New Year 2026; and the Dinh Mountain Trail Run.
