The Representative Office of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper in Can Tho and Ca Mau called on the Ca Mau Business Association (CMBA) to fund all the gifts.
Forty-seven scholarships worth VND1.2 million each and eight bikes were handed over to 55 disadvantaged students with good academic results in Phu Thuan commune and Cai Doi Vam town in Phu Tan district, Ca Mau province.
In addition, 14,000 notebooks were given to the Education and Training Office of Phu Tan district to send to students with good academic achievements on the occasion of the closing ceremony of the 2020-2021 school year.
Vice Chairman of the Phu Tan District People’s Committee Truong Hoang Khai thanked Nhan Dan and CMBA for the gifts and expressed his wish that the newspaper and association would continue to support needy students and join hands with local authorities in promoting education.
Besides Phu Tan district, representatives from the CMBA will visit Tran Van Thoi and Cai Nuoc districts in Cau Mau province on May 19 and 20 to present gifts, bikes and scholarships worth VND450 million to local students.
The CMBA has spent over VND1 billion building bridges and presenting gifts to needy people and students over the past two years.
