The third and final phase of the project involved renovating and upgrading the airport apron and it was put into service on April 18.
The total cost of the upgrade project was more than 712 billion VND (30.3 million USD), funded by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam.
Following the upgrade, Cam Ranh Airport now features 33 parking lots for aircraft, including nine Code E aircraft, two Code D aircraft and 22 Code C aircraft.
The airport can handle large aircraft such as the Boeing B777, Airbus A350, and others.
The completion of the upgrade project will help enhance the capacity of Cam Ranh Airport, thereby improving Khanh Hoa’s connection with other parts of the countries and foreign destinations.
It is also expected to help transform Khanh Hoa into an international marine tourism hub and a growth driver in the south central coastal region in the future.
