The meeting focused on project progress, disbursement plans and credit granting conditions to ensure sufficient funding during the final construction phase, ahead of the airport’s planned commercial operation in December 2026.
According to ACV, Component 3 has achieved a total implementation value of 73.87 trillion VND out of 86.348 trillion VND in contracted work, equivalent to 85.5%. Total disbursements have reached approximately 47.055 trillion VND, or 54.5% of the total contract value.
With a total investment of 99.019 trillion VND, Component 3 includes essential infrastructure such as airfield facilities, aircraft aprons, fuel systems, the passenger terminal, Cargo Terminal No. 1, parking facilities and supporting structures.
ACV said that securing the remaining credit conditions and accelerating disbursement were essential to maintaining construction progress, paying for completed work and finishing remaining items on schedule.
Under a syndicated credit agreement signed on June 1, 2024, ACV and the three banks are reviewing the remaining financing conditions and coordinating disbursement plans to meet the project’s funding demands during this critical phase.
ACV, which manages and operates 22 airports nationwide, plans to conduct three comprehensive operational trials at Long Thanh International Airport in September–October and November–December 2026 to assess infrastructure, technical systems, procedures and personnel before commercial operations begin.
Long Thanh International Airport is a major national project designed to meet International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)’s Code 4F standards, with a planned capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tonnes of cargo annually. The first phase of the project has a total investment of 114.45 trillion VND and is designed to handle 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tonnes of cargo per year.
