During the visit, Lieutenant General Le Xuan The noted that 2025 has witnessed numerous high-level exchanges between the leaders of the two Parties and States, while bilateral defence cooperation has continued to be strengthened through concrete and practical outcomes.
Cambodia’s deployment of forces to participate in major events in Viet Nam, along with hundreds of delegation exchanges for study and working visits, has demonstrated the spirit of solidarity, mutual trust, and shared responsibility in maintaining regional peace and stability.
Effective coordination between Military Region 7 and Military Region 1, as well as border localities such as Mondulkiri, Dong Nai, and Lam Dong, has made an important contribution to maintaining security and order along the border, while also expanding opportunities for economic, cultural, and defence cooperation.
Both sides also agreed to continue strengthening joint efforts to combat transnational crime and ensure safety for people and businesses, thereby reinforcing a stable foundation for shared development.
Lieutenant General Le Xuan The extended his best wishes to officers and soldiers of Military Region 1 of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces for a joyful, peaceful, and happy traditional New Year. He also expressed his hope that the friendship, cooperation, and solidarity between the two countries’ militaries, particularly between the two military regions, would continue to grow stronger.
On the same day, the delegation also paid tribute to fallen Vietnamese volunteer soldiers in Stung Treng Province.
