This result reflects the airport’s efforts in upgrading, renovating and comprehensively improving Terminal T1 with a number of key components.

Accordingly, Da Nang International Airport has expanded its business lounge, upgraded restrooms, added more seating, improved green landscaped areas and signage systems as well as flight information display screens.

In addition, the airport has enhanced modern amenities such as high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations, free drinking water, luggage wrapping services and support services for passengers with special needs.

The airport has also implemented various advanced technological solutions, including automated toll collection, data management software, AI-based passenger flow analysis systems, AI chatbots and automated tray return systems to optimise operations and improve service quality.

Notably, information desks have been installed at security screening checkpoints to provide direct assistance to passengers. Biometric and automated systems have also been applied to reduce waiting times, making check-in, security screening and boarding more convenient.

With these comprehensive improvements in infrastructure and technology, Da Nang International Airport is moving closer to achieving Skytrax’s 4-star standard, contributing to enhancing its image and boosting the development of tourism and the central region’s economy, while affirming its strategic position on the global aviation map.

Previously, the master plan for Da Nang International Airport for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050, was approved. This is a significant step towards upgrading infrastructure to meet growing air transport demand and promote socio-economic development, including tourism, in the central region.

In 2026, Da Nang City aims to welcome about 19.1 million visitors, an increase of 10.2% compared to 2025, with international arrivals expected to reach around 7.86 million.

Under the plan, by 2030, Da Nang International Airport is expected to achieve a capacity of around 20 million passengers per year and 100,000 tonnes of cargo/year. By 2050, passenger capacity will remain at 20 million, while cargo handling capacity is projected to increase to approximately 330,000 tonnes per year. The airport will be capable of accommodating large aircraft such as the B747, B787, A350 and equivalent models.
