Speaking about Dien Bien’s tourism potential and opportunities for cooperation with northern Thai provinces, Pham Duc Toan noted: “As a hub connecting Viet Nam’s north-western provinces with northern Thailand, Dien Bien enjoys many favourable conditions to boost cultural and tourism exchanges with localities in Thailand.”
Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya shared this view, also highlighting Dien Bien’s potential and strategic position in linking northern Viet Nam with northern Thailand. The Ambassador affirmed: “Personally, and on behalf of the Thai Embassy, I am committed to accompanying Dien Bien in organising training courses to enhance the capacity of officials and tourism enterprises. We will also support the promotion of Dien Bien’s image among Thai visitors, foster cultural exchanges, and strengthen community ties.”
At the event, delegates discussed, exchanged experiences and shared information focused on tourism development and cooperation in six key areas: state management of tourism; building and developing tourism products; effective and sustainable use of local resources for tourism development; tourism entrepreneurship; developing smart tourism in association with digital transformation; and designing and pricing tour packages suited to visitor needs and preferences.
Pham Duc Toan expressed the hope that the Ambassador and members of the Thai Embassy delegation would support efforts to strengthen cooperation and attract tourists from northern Thailand travelling by right-hand-drive caravan vehicles through the Tay Trang International Border Gate into Viet Nam.
