The Vietnamese edition of the Britannica consists of two volumes with more than 3,000 pages featuring 25,000 entries across almost all areas of human knowledge from art and literature to science and technology.
This version also includes nearly 300 entries about Vietnam selected and compiled by domestic scholars and approved by Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc. to be added to its global knowledge bank.
According to the Education Publishing House, the project to translate the Britannica into Vietnamese involves more than 100 translators, lexicographers and experts from major universities in Vietnam.
The Vietnamese publisher said all entries in the Vietnamese edition are vetted by Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc. in order to ensure the quality, accuracy and objectivity of the encyclopaedia.
The Encyclopaedia Britannica was first published between 1768 and 1771 in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is the oldest and most prestigious English-language encyclopaedia.
