Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Phung Quoc Hien and Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung joined leaders and alumni under the academy at the event.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Trong Co, Rector of the AOF, in its 55 years of construction and development, under various names, the academy has made great progress on training human resources in finance, banking, accounting and auditing for the country.
According to a survey in 2017, the proportion of its students with employment one year after their graduation was at 97.72%, topping the leading five in Vietnam. Many of them have been holding important positions in relevant public agencies.
According to NA Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien, the AOF is a branded training address, a pride of many generations of its students and leaders. The two disciplines at the academy, namely finance and accounting, have become the brand of AOF. In the financial major, the AOF needs to deepen its focus on public finance, corporate finance and financial market, Hien suggested, adding that the AOF also need to focus on specialised training in areas accounting for industry and agriculture, while attaching importance to foreign languages and IT.

As a former student, teacher and leader during his 27 years at the academy, Deputy PM Hue emphasised the need for the academy to determine its mission, vision and position in the higher education system as well as finance and accounting sector, from which to develop appropriate development strategies.
The Deputy PM also stated the focus on innovation regarding its vision, teaching methods, training, test and evaluation to maximise the creativity of learners, thus ensuring the quality of human resources meeting the market’s needs in the national industrialisation and modernisation process.
