In his opening speech, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung stated that the forum creates a space for agencies, departments, sectors, localities and enterprises to contribute ideas for the country’s sustainable development. Emphasising the opportunities and challenges in the coming time, the deputy prime minister hoped that delegates would propose solutions to perfect institutions, mobilise social resources, take advantage of new development space, and give advice to promote double-digit economic growth according to the Party’s policy.
At the forum, leaders of corporations, enterprises, and associations representing various sectors, industries, and economic regions shared practical information, assessed the current and future growth potential and opportunities of each sector, contributing to the overall growth of the economy. Many opinions suggested that in order for the economy to achieve double-digit growth in the 2026-2030 period, Viet Nam needs a comprehensive strategy of cooperation between the state and enterprises.
Accordingly, the state needs to support enterprises to participate in new industries, especially high-tech industries. The state accompanies enterprises in the initial stage, supports development investment funds based on the selection of new and high-tech industries that they want to participate in, and selects potential enterprises in that field to jointly invest in appropriate technology, human resources, and material resources.
From the perspective of commodity production enterprises, many delegates emphasised the work of perfecting mechanisms and policies to create openness, helping enterprises save time and reduce costs, focusing on improving product quality, reducing costs, and enhancing competitiveness.
Speaking at the forum, Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Policies and Strategies, said that in order to achieve strategic goals while lookingtowards the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party (2030) and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country (2045), everyone must be unanimous, join hands, contribute, support, and share; promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in institutions; have the right strategy and model; and assess external impacts.
Analysing the opportunities and challenges to realise development goals, he commented that there are more opportunities than challenges when people's and businesses’ trust in reforms, especially revolutionary changes, is raised. In addition, Viet Nam’s potential is greater than before, the country's position is affirmed and enhanced in the international arena.
He emphasised that to promote high and sustainable economic growth in the new context, it is necessary to have new thinking, approaches and ways of doing things; to have priorities in performing work; agencies, units and localities must be dedicated, proactive, have good connections and coordination with each other. Specifically, local authorities need to be more proactive as they will be decentralised more in the future, while local leaders must truly share and listen to people and businesses.
