These efforts ensured that work progress and quality were delivered in line with the set plans.
The 15th meeting of the central executive committee of the Viet Nam Women's Union (13th tenure) was held in Ha Noi on December 15.
In her opening address, Permanent Vice President of the Viet Nam Women’s Union Tran Lan Phuong stressed that 2025 is a year in which the entire political system is focusing on implementing the resolutions and conclusions of the Politburo and the Secretariat on rearranging administrative units and streamlining the organisational apparatus.
The central executive committee of the Viet Nam Women's Union successfully organised the ceremony marking the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Viet Nam Women’s Union, at which the Union received the First-Class Labour Order; the Fifth Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Viet Nam Women’s Union; and the presentation of the 2025 Viet Nam Women Award.
These events carried profound political significance, generated strong social resonance, inspired a spirit of emulation and creativity, and fuelled the aspiration to contribute among women cadres and members, while also affirming the position and role of the union.
According to Tran Lan Phuong, the organisation and direction of women’s congresses at all levels have been implemented in line with the approved plan. To date, women’s congresses at commune level nationwide have been completed, while 27 provinces and cities have completed their provincial-level congresses. The remaining localities are expected to organise their congresses on schedule as planned.
In addition, national target programmes, projects and government schemes have continued to be implemented effectively and in accordance with the approved plans. The union has successfully proposed major policies, creating favourable conditions for Women’s Union organisations at all levels to fulfil their tasks. Notably, the Viet Nam Women’s Union is the first organisation to have its scheme “Supporting women’s start-ups in the 2026–2035 period” (Scheme No. 2415) approved by the prime minister.
The meeting focused on reviewing and assessing achievements and shortcomings in the union’s work and the women’s movement in 2025; discussing the plan for implementing tasks in 2026; considering the scheme for organising the 14th National Women’s Congress; signing cooperation programmes with a number of organisations; conducting personnel work; and addressing several other matters.
At the meeting, 12 individuals were awarded the First-Class and Second-Class Labour Orders, while four individuals received certificates of merit from the prime minister.
These prestigious awards recognise their significant contributions to building and strengthening the union’s organisation and promoting the role of women in socio-economic development and national defence, while also serving as a source of encouragement for generations of Women’s Union cadres to continue striving, training, and dedicating themselves.
