A programme was held on March 23 to provide free health check-ups and medicines to Overseas Vietnamese and Cambodian citizens living in difficulties in Kratie Province, Cambodia.

The disadvantaged people also received gift packages, with each including rice, cash, and clothes.

The event was co-organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia, Cho Ray - Hospital, the Bank for Investment and Development of Cambodia (BIDC), and the Khmer - Vietnamese Association’s branch in Kratie Province.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang expressed his thanks to the Kratie provincial authorities and people for their support to the Overseas Vietnamese community, particularly those living in difficult situations.

He called on the Overseas Vietnamese community in Kratie to observe Cambodia’s laws and local regulations while promoting solidarity in their living areas.

For her part, Vice Governor of Kratie Province Kham Sopheap stressed that the programme offered vivid evidence of the close relationship and mutual support between Cambodia and Vietnam.
