Marking its 11th edition, this year’s festival signals a major shift from closed conference halls to an interactive urban model that embeds innovation within daily city life and widens public access to technology.
Co-organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ha Noi People’s Committee, TECHFEST 2025 will take place from December 12–14 under the theme “Nationwide innovative entrepreneurship — A new driver for growth.” The theme underlines the goal of making innovation a broad-based movement accessible to all citizens.
At a press briefing on December 3, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh said the new “open space” model will allow residents to directly explore emerging technologies, creative business models, and startup support services. The shift aligns with the nationwide implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
Truong Viet Dung, Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi Municipal People’s Committee, emphasised that the capital’s ambition for double-digit growth is dependent on science, technology, innovation, and digitalisation. Bringing TECHFEST into an open urban space will enable citizens, businesses, investors, and startups to connect naturally within the flow of city life.
According to Pham Hong Quat, Director of the National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation Development, TECHFEST activities will be spread across cafés, restaurants, community venues, and the Nhan Dan Newspaper hall around Hoan Kiem Lake. The “open” model operates across four dimensions: space, interaction, technology experience, and participant diversity — from small businesses and students to startups and SMEs. It is also expected to enhance international delegates’ cultural experiences while showcasing the dynamism of Viet Nam’s startup community.
This year’s TECHFEST will feature over 10 seminars, including an international conference, specialised dialogues, technology showcases, and more than 20 investment and business-connection events.
Around 700 exhibition booths will be arranged across four themed zones recreating Viet Nam’s startup ecosystem — from early-stage ventures and ecosystem builders to breakthrough technology experiences and major corporations.
