The award was announced at a ceremony held by the Viet Nam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) on December 23.
According to the organisers, the capital city successfully addressed one of the biggest bottlenecks of a megacity - communication with citizens.
Specifically, the introduction of an artificial intelligence-powered call centre, a 24/7 virtual assistant and the digital citizen app iHanoi has helped the city significantly improve interaction with its residents through a rapid and transparent communication channel.
For a city of 10 million people, this is considered an outstanding achievement.
After a rigorous judging process, the organisers decided to present awards to eight cities and 10 technological solutions selected from 75 nominations.
This year’s event not only marks the progress of Vietnamese cities in the era of dual green and digital transformation but also emphasises the ultimate goal of technology: creating liveable cities.
Alongside the award ceremony, VINASA collaborated with the Ha Noi Department of Science and Technology to organise the Viet Nam-Asia Smart City Summit 2025, bringing together more than 1,500 delegates, including government officials, smart city experts, and business representatives.
