Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Van Anh said that the contests aim to find new photography works and songs with artistic values to promote the important position and role of Hanoi, as well as arousing the revolutionary tradition, thousands of years of civilisation, self-reliance and aspiration for the development of Hanoi.
This is also an occasion to encourage people, especially young people, to preserve and boost the cultural identity of Hanoi in the period of integration and development, Anh noted.
The two contests invite entries of both amateur and professional authors until August 1 for the photo contest and until July 30 for the song composing contest.
The award ceremony for the photo contest is scheduled for September 20, 2024, while winners of the songwriting contest will be honoured on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day.
