Themed “Yanzhao Silk Melody – Viet Nam-China Harmony”, the event aimed to deepen bilateral cultural understanding between the two countries.
Addressing the programme, Li Xinjie, deputy director of the Hebei Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, said Hebei is the only province in China with a full range of terrain including coastlines, plains, lakes, hills, and plateaus. The province is home to two UNESCO Global Geoparks, 12 national 5A-level tourist attractions, and more than 60 national-level forest parks and nature reserves, earning it the nickname “a miniature of China’s geomorphology.”

Hebei has actively seized strategic opportunities such as the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the construction of the Xiong’an New Area. Through innovative policies, the province is strongly advancing its goal of becoming a cultural and tourism powerhouse.
In 2024, Hebei welcomed 937 million tourist visits under the slogan: “So close – So beautiful – Spend the weekend in Hebei!”—a message that gained wide traction.

The year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of Viet Nam–China diplomatic relations and is designated the Year of Viet Nam-China People-to-People Exchange. On this occasion, Hebei Province expressed its desire to expand comprehensive cultural and tourism exchanges with Viet Nam.
Li Xinjie expressed his hopes that through the “Yanzhao Silk Melody – Viet Nam-China Harmony” programme, the two sides would establish a long-term, comprehensive, and effective cooperation mechanism in areas such as tourist exchanges, resort development, project investment, artistic creation, and the building of new cultural-tourism formats.
Hebei’s leader also extended a sincere invitation to Vietnamese businesses to visit the province and explore potential opportunities for cultural and tourism cooperation and investment.

Speaking at the event, Zhang Deshan, Director of the China Cultural Centre in Ha Noi, emphasised that in recent years, practical cooperation between Viet Nam and China has continued to expand, with cultural and tourism exchanges becoming a highlight that enhances mutual understanding. He noted that the two countries are not only attractive destinations but also important sources of tourists for each other.

He highlighted that the visit and working session of the Hebei provincial delegation in Ha Noi contributes to nurturing the friendship and deepening relations between Hebei and Viet Nam. It also offers an opportunity to promote practical cooperation, discover new development drivers, and move together towards broader cultural and tourism collaboration.

As part of the programme, the organisers presented an overview of Hebei’s rich cultural and tourism resources and officially announced the establishment of the Hebei Provincial Culture and Tourism Promotion Centre in Viet Nam.

Hebei Province boasts a long-standing cultural and historical legacy. It is home to four UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites, eight elements of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, 291 nationally recognised cultural relics, and 163 nationally listed intangible cultural heritage items.
