Under the new deal, the two sides will work together in promoting investment, trade and tourism; creating tourism products and routes; jointly organising educational, cultural and sports events; and arranging Ho Chi Minh City’s working delegations.
At the signing ceremony, Ho Chi Minh City Chairman Phan Van Mai said the comprehensive cooperation programme will help enhance the city’s position in the region and the world.
According to VNA Chairman Dang Ngoc Hoa, the cooperation between the two sides is expected to have an active contribution on the socio-economic development of Vietnam’s southern economic hub.
In recent times, Ho Chi Minh City has witnessed strong growth in both domestic and foreign tourists and has positioned itself as a friendly, safe, and attractive international destination.
For Vietnam Airlines, Ho Chi Minh City is not only a key market but also a particularly important domestic aviation transit hub and gateway to Southeast Asia.
The carrier is currently operating flights from Ho Chi Minh City to 19 domestic airports and 26 international airports.
