The events were jointly organised by the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site at the Presidential Palace and the Embassy of Viet Nam in Greece to commemorate the 115th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's departure in search of a path to national salvation (June 5, 1911–June 5, 2026) and the 51st anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Greece (1975–2026).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Le Thi Phuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site at the Presidential Palace, said that the exhibition not only retraces the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, Viet Nam’s national liberation hero and a great man of culture, but also vividly portrays his remarkable intellectual journey.
“His glorious life and career became an outstanding symbol of the determination of an entire nation, contributing to the common struggle of peoples around the world for peace, national independence, democracy, and social progress,” she emphasised.
She added that, in addition to strengthening bilateral diplomatic ties, the exhibition is also aimed at the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Greece, helping to foster a stronger sense of national pride and patriotism among overseas Vietnamese.
Alongside the exhibition, Viet Nam Culture Day in Greece offers a vibrant cultural space, serving as a bridge that brings Viet Nam and its people closer to international friends through a range of meaningful highlights.
In addition, the programme offers visitors an opportunity to experience Vietnamese culture through traditional musical performances and patriotic songs celebrating the country, staged and performed by Vietnamese artists from the Viet Nam Cultural Centre in France, as well as presentations of Viet Nam’s distinctive and diverse culinary heritage.
