This is one of the activities to celebrate the 25 years since Hoi An Ancient Town was recognised by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage (on December 4, 1999-2024).
The ceremony was attended by Ta Van Ha, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (NA)'s Committee for Culture and Education; representatives from central agencies, Japanese agencies, and units; representatives of leaders of Quang Nam Province and Hoi An City; scientists, researchers, and consultants; and a large number of local people and tourists.
Pham Phu Ngoc, Director of the Hoi An Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation Centre, said that up to now, the investment scale and work items have been implemented and basically completed according to the approved design.
The project to restore the Chua Cau relic (which started on December 28, 2022) has received a total investment of 20.2 billion VND, with 50% coming from the Quang Nam provincial budget and 50% from the Hoi An City budget.
