Mai Phuong, a student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, surpassed 36 others to be named Miss World Vietnam 2022 and has now qualified to attend the Miss World competition scheduled to take place next year.
She speaks English fluently and has excellent presentation skills along with many outstanding personal talents. In 2020, at the Miss Vietnam contest, she entered the Top 5 finalists and won the title of Miss Compassionate.
The final night of this year's Miss World Vietnam was attended by representatives of the Miss World organisation as well as Miss World 2021 Karolina Bielawska (Poland).
The final night included Ao dai (traditional long dress), swimsuit, evening gown, and question-and-answer rounds.
Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong received a VND 300 million cash reward and a crown called Ocean Lotus.
Meanwhile, the 1st runner-up Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc received a prize of VND 150 million; the 2nd runner-up Nguyen Phuong Nhi received a prize of VND 100 million.
With more than 70 years of organisation, Miss World is considered the most prestigious beauty "arena" in the world. With the message "Beauty for a noble purpose", the contest strives to find and honour girls who have physical beauty along with inner beauty, knowledge, commitment, and responsibility to the community through various social activities.
