Inspiring patriotism by renewing music for children

In the joyous atmosphere of celebrating the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – 2024), many young artists have found creative ways to express and contribute to inspiring patriotism and national pride through the pure and innocent perspectives of children.

In the current context of rapidly developing modern music, children's music is facing many challenges. Music products aimed at children are increasingly scarce, while the market is flooded by commercial songs with unsuitable content for their age group.

This situation not only affects the spiritual life of children but also hurts their personality development and aesthetic sense. This shortage is a significant challenge in reviving and developing a rich and high-quality children's music scene that not only entertains but also educates and nurtures the souls of the nation's future generation.

Faced with this situation, many young artists are deeply concerned and have conceived new music products based on familiar children's songs. Among them is the music video "Vietnamese Children", delivering a powerful message of patriotism and national pride, harmoniously blending modern rap with traditional influences, to create a melody that is both fresh and deeply imbued with Vietnamese identity.

The music video opens with the image of a veteran soldier alongside children, with the soldier, a symbol of resilience and patriotism from the previous generation, serving as a torchbearer, and passing on cultural values to the future generation. Meanwhile, the children in the video represent continuity and inheritance, bearing the responsibility of preserving and promoting the nation's beautiful traditional values.

According to Nguyen Thanh Trung, head of the "True Charity" Club and representative of the music video’s production team, the work interweaves two songs "Who Loves Uncle Ho More Than the Children" and "The Lac Hong Bloodline", along with the "Five Teachings of Uncle Ho" that President Ho Chi Minh once imparted to the children during his lifetime.

The music video conveys a profound message that although times may change, patriotism and national pride remain steadfast and are passed down through generations. The modern rap melody, combined with folk influences, creates a harmonious song that is both youthful and rich in Vietnamese identity. Therefore, the lyrics of "Vietnamese Children" are like the whispers of children about their love for their homeland, its scenic beauty, and the glorious history of the nation.

Participating in the music video, little rapper Xe Xe shared: "I really like this song because it begins with the line 'Who Loves Uncle Ho More Than the Children...'. In the video, the appearance of the soldiers' uniforms made me and the other children feel extremely proud because the soldiers protect our homeland day and night”.
