JICA supports Vietnam – Japan agricultural cooperation

A seminar was held in Vinh city, in the central province of Nghe An on August 18, introducing the Agricultural Marketing Platform (AMPF), Agribusiness Japan Desk (ABJD) and the interaction between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises.

The event, held jointly by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Vietnam and Nghe An provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, featured the participation of 180 delegates from many agencies in Nghe An province, enterprises from the two countries and agricultural cooperatives.

The seminar aimed to promote investment from Japanese enterprises in the agricultural sector in Nghe An, as well as enhance mutual understanding between Japanese and Vietnamese enterprises and related organisations towards developing business in the future.

In addition to the introduction of activities and support systems of ABJD and AMPF, a programme will be held to promote the interaction between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises towards tightening cooperation in the future.

At the seminar, Deputy Chief Representatives of JICA in Vietnam, Kubo Yoshitomo expressed his hope that ABJD and AMPF will play the role of connecting Japanese and Vietnamese businesses in the agricultural sector.

Besides promoting the results from the seminar, JICA will continue to strengthen cooperation and further support the business activities of Japanese enterprises in Nghe An province.
