The Ha Noi Union of Friendship Organisations, together with the Embassy of Cuba and the embassies of Latin American countries in Viet Nam, jointly organised the 13th Latin American Music Night in Ha Noi, on the evening of December 16. The event was attended by more than 200 domestic and international delegates.
In his opening speech at the event, Nguyen Ngoc Ky, President of the Ha Noi Union of Friendship Organisations, said that over the past 12 years, the union, in coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba and the embassies of Latin American countries in Viet Nam, has organised Latin American Music Night — a meaningful cultural exchange programme that has left a positive impression on international friends.
“The programme has helped strengthen solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding between the people of the capital and the peoples of Latin American countries, narrowing geographical distance and creating favourable conditions for expanding friendly and cooperative relations between Viet Nam and Latin American countries,” Nguyen Ngoc Ky stressed.
According to Nguyen Ngoc Ky, alongside a series of commemorative activities of profound socio-political significance, Latin American Music Night is among the meaningful events celebrating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam–Cuba diplomatic relations and the “Viet Nam–Cuba Friendship Year”.
At the event, Cuban Ambassador to Viet Nam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, expressed his thanks to the Ha Noi Union of Friendship Organisations for coordinating with the Embassy of Cuba and the embassies of Latin American countries in Ha Noi to organise the meaningful music night.
The ambassador affirmed that December 2, 1960, the day Cuba and Viet Nam established diplomatic relations, opened up new horizons for the full relationship that Viet Nam today maintains with all countries in the Americas.
The music night comprised two parts, with Part 1 performed by professional and amateur artists from Latin American embassies, as well as associations and member organisations of the Ha Noi Union of Friendship Organisations.
After the distinctive performances, delegates joined in free dancing to upbeat music and enjoyed Latin American-style food and drinks in a warm atmosphere of friendship.
