This was announced at a press conference held on February 29 by the Nam Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, the Nam Dinh Provincial Culinary Culture Association, Masan Consumer Corporation, and Blue Vietnam Company Limited.

Speaking at the press conference, Chairwoman of Nam Dinh Provincial Culinary Culture Association Le Thi Thiet said that the festival aims to introduce visitors to the diversity of ‘pho’ in different localities, such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, as well as Nam Dinh, Lang Son, Ha Giang, Lam Dong, and Gia Lai provinces.

It will provide an opportunity for diners to enjoy the flavours of ‘pho’ blended with regional cultures across the country, she said.

The festival also aims to honour the making of ‘pho’ in a bid to make ‘pho’ into a national brand and the world’s intangible cultural heritage, she added.

The festival will gather more than 50 booths introducing the ingredients and seasonings to make ‘pho’, as well as packaged ‘pho’ products for export.

A talk show on the history and development of the craft making of ‘pho’, an exhibition space, and a writing contest on Vietnamese Pho will also be held on the occasion.

Notably, chefs will gather to cook a giant pot which can serve 2,000 bowls of ‘pho’ to serve visitors to the festival.
