Celebrated on May 20, Nhan Dan Newspaper's Innovation Day promotes the spirit of innovation and creativity among individuals and collectives working at the newspaper, enhancing the exchange of experiences and skills between them, all while contributing to improving the newspaper’s operation and the quality of journalistic products.

The two editions of Innovation Day in 2021 and 2022 witnessed many initiatives, ideas, and action programmes to improve the quality of Nhan Dan Newspaper’s operations, journalistic works, and publishing process, as well as its communications work and social activities.

These innovations and creative ideas, contributed by departments and units under Nhan Dan Newspaper across the country, have helped save time, effort, and costs while increasing financial benefits for the newspaper and promoting its image and reputation. They have also helped to encourage journalists, editors, and reporters to make further contributions to the overall achievements of the newspaper.

Each year’s Innovation Day welcomes around 30 ideas and projects of diverse scales and forms with high feasibility and application value.

The highlight of the innovation effort included the launch of thematic topics and information pages in celebration of the country's major anniversaries and the publications penned by Party and State leaders.

It is worth mentioning the publication of special coverage on Vietnam's six regions: the Northern Midland and Mountainous region, the Mekong Delta region, the Central Highlands region, the Southeast region, the North Central and Central Coastal region, and the Red River Delta region.

In 2023, Nhan Dan Newspaper hosted many social activities and events, which evidenced the newspaper’s innovative efforts.

It was a splendid, emotional music night at the National Convention Centre in November, featuring world-renowned saxophonist Kenny G. The programme marked the opening of the “Good Morning Vietnam” international music project, initiated by the Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and IB Group Vietnam. All proceeds from ticket sales of the project will be donated to charity.

Last year, Nhan Dan Newspaper announced the Human Act Prize 2023, aiming to honour and promote projects for the community, as well as recognise worthy organisations, businesses and individuals, who are making efforts to contribute to society.

The award is organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper, with the participation of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the coordination of VCCorp Corporation.

The programme was implemented from December 23, 2023, to January 2024, on construction sites in localities across the country, including Hanoi, Hung Yen, Quang Ninh, Quang Ngai, Ho Chi Minh City, and Binh Duong, during which 17,000 Tet gifts and free bus tickets were presented to disadvantaged workers.

On the occasion, free health examination and consultation sessions were also held at construction sites.
