According to Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper and Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, the programme will be implemented from December 23, 2023 to January 2024, on construction sites in localities across the country, including Hanoi, Hung Yen, Quang Ninh, Quang Ngai, Ho Chi Minh City, and Binh Duong.

The organising committee will give away 17,000 Tet gifts and free bus tickets for workers so that they can return home for Tet.

On the occasion, free health examination and consultation sessions will also be held at construction sites.

Minh, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, reported that in recent years, Nhan Dan Newspaper has organised many social and charity activities benefiting the community, such as the launch of the Human Act Prize, the presentation of social houses to victims of Agent Orange, the hand-over of savings books to poor people and families of policy beneficiaries, and the delivery of scholarships and computers to schools in mountainous areas.

Speaking at the launch, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Phan Van Anh highly appreciated the programme’s significance, as it will bring about practical and meaningful benefits to nearly 17,000 workers.

He thanked the programme’s organisers for taking care of union members and workers nationwide, especially those working at construction sites.
